Hi All, We have several websites running from a windows 2008 server\IIS 7 environment. All these websites are running in classic mode and has been migrated from IIS 5 using a staging server which was running IIS 6. IIS 6 to IIS 7 migration was done using msdeploy tool. Most of this websites have virtual directories pointing to dfs shares and they connect to dfs shares using domain service accounts. These virtual directory properties are there in the applicationhost.config file with their password in encrypted format. The problem stared a couple of days back when we started getting the error mentioned above. Every site that has virtual directories pointing to a dfs share and using a customized domain service account is giving this error and it has become virtually impossible to browse this sites as it is not serving any content. Every request to these websites end in the error mentioned above. I have browsed this forum and also other sites but nowhere did I find any mention to this specific problem. All of them deal with the sites running in integrated mode. However, we have the sites running in classic mode and the application pools hosting this virtual directories are running with network service. Any insight into this problem will be greatly appreciated....
