MaxWebConfigFileSizeInKB problem

Hi,

I have a Win 2008 64bit system with iis 7.5 and my url rewrite rule config file (in a separate file according official method (rewriterules.config)) has something like 950kb and still not all the rewrite rules I would need, but I cannot work with them as the file is too large. So I went through forums and found the hint to edit regedit:

hint: MaxWebConfigFileSizeInKB as dword.

I set it into hklm/software/wow6432node/microsoft/inetstp/configuration as I use a 64bit system and set the size to 5000kb (decimal input) but to no avail, I always get the same error saying that the file would be too large. So could anyone maybe give me dummy walkthrough for this or did I miss something else?

Changes to regedit have certainly been adopted as I rebooted the server completely.

Which leeds to the next question: is there another way of resetting iis7.5 without having to reboot the server? I found a post in some forum about this but it must be for an older version of iis as I could not find the menu dropdowns mentionned there.

regards,

Pascal
