FTP cd command with leading slash

Hello. I have a problem  related to FTP.

In my previous server I could do cd /folder

but in this new server (MS FTP, IIS 7) the only correct option is cd folder (no slash)

I cannot change the code to reflect this change. Can anybody help me set up FTP so this /folder is allowed?
