Problems with MP3 download (possible MIME types or IIS issue)

Hi there. Bit of a tricky issue to sort out, hoping someone can point me in the right direction

Some MP3 files are being hosted on my clients website at www.streetparty.com.au. Its a band site and they want people to hear what they sound like, and to be able to download music files.

Click on "Listen" in the menu on the left and you'll be presented with a list of files that can be played or downloaded. The "player" part is working fine - its the "download" links that dont all work - they are the ones we are interested in. The download capability is done with a very simple piece of ASP Classic code, which i can provide later if needed. I believe the site is hosted on IIS7.

I've noticed that files smaller than about 4MB download ok, but files larger than 4MB fail to download. The hoster (arvixe.com) claim there is no limit to file sizes. At this stage I dont think there is anything in the code causing this since it used to work in IIS6 on another hoster, and I havent changed the code at all.

So you can download the first 6 files as they are all under 4MB. But if you try the 7th and lower ones which are all above 4MB, ASP/IIS is interpreting them as HTML and the download fails.

Either there is something wrong with the files OR there is something in the way IIS is interpreting the files themselves. I have chopped off one of the 8MB files down to under 4MB and then it works - so i dont think its the files.

 Any wisdom appreciated !

thanks in advance
