Hi all. I'm not sure whether or not this has been answered, though I didn't see it turn up in a search using the search icon above.
When you set a Watch folder in Transform Manager, can it watch sub-folders and their contents within that Watch folder.
Case in point:
We have a streaming media server that, as part of a vendor solution, uses Windows Media Services for streaming. Those files are saved to a drive in the following hierarchy:
- Meeting Type (Folder)
- Meeting ID (Folder)
- Meeting File (.wmv file)
- Meeting ID (Folder)
This is how the vendor solution saves and we have no way around that. The meeting type folders are usually pretty static, but new Meeting ID sub-folders and their contents are added on a regular basis. We don't currently have an option to move away from this solution as it is part of a larger document management application.
We would, however, like to begin streaming our archived videos in a format friendly to iOS devices and based on my reading, the solution with the tools we have is IIS Transform Manager. I would like to minimize the amount of "hands-on" to the process. Meaning, the less I have to pay attention to whether there's a new .wmv file and manually drop it into a watch folder for conversion, the better. Ideally, I would set-up the root "Videos" folder as the Watch folder and it would pick-up on the new sub-folders and their respective content on its own.
If Transform Manager does not have the ability to monitor sub-folders within a central Watch folder, I am open to suggestions as to how I should proceed.
