HTTPS avi files won't play in windows media player via IIS7

Hello,

I have a few avi files I put in an https virtual directory on the server.   If I download those files from the server using FTP - I can play them back in windows media player 11 without any issue whatsoever.   If I connect to them via https - e.g.https://www.mycompany.com/client/acme/sample.avi - I get an error - which points me here and yet as I said my computer has no problem playing any of the avi files locally - only when I put them up on the server. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/webhelp/default.aspx?&mpver=11.0.5721.5145&id=C00D11B1&contextid=87&originalid=80004005

I can playback WMV files with windows media player 11 that are being downloaded from the same virtual directory on that server.    I can also playback quicktime movies (not with windows media player) from that same folder.

I don't know if it matters or not but I can't play asf files with wmp 11 from that same folder although when I download them to my machine they play fine.   I'm not concerned about asf files but thought it might help you in diagnosing the issue.
