Websites with certificates are very slow to access on Windows Server 2008 R2 STD

Hello,

I wonder if somebody can help me clarifying this issue.

I have migrated an installed server from Windows Server 2003 R2 STD to Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard with SP1 (8GB RAM and 1.5TB RAID 5 disks). All Users (direct connected or remote desktop connected) do complain about big latency when accessing Websites using Certificates.

Accessing Websites with NO certificates causes NO problem.

All existing patches have been installed.

I have found  a corrective patch KB955805 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/955805)that reports this issue for Windows Server 2008 and VISTA. It seems to be the solution, but when trying to install it, I am getting a rejection with a message stating:This corrective patch does not apply to your machine.

The difference is that mine is running the R2 STD version of Windows Server 2008.

The problem experienced on all platforms IE9/IE10/Firefox/Opera and Chrome.

Any idea folks????

With all my thanks in advance
