I'm running Windows 8 Pro on a workgroup and was hoping to be able to use IISManagerAuth. It shows up as a custom provider option that can be checked in the IIS Manager Feature's GUI. However, I've been unable to find any tutorials or commentary on this forum that deviates from what @Robert McMurray has published here www.iis.net/learn/publish/using-the-ftp-service/configure-ftp-with-iis-manager-authentication-in-iis-7
It just suggets that IIS Management Service must be installed (which is apparently only possible on server OS?) because I don't have the "roles" option in my GUI. Mind you in turning Windows features on/off I've enabled ALL ISS options (every little sub feature checkbox). Nor do I see that it's something that can be downloaded out of band. In searching for the feature limits/differences between IIS on client OS vs server the only difference I can drum up is client OS is limited to 10 concurrent connections. Can anyone confirm the use of IISManagerAuth simply isn't possible on client OS. If it is where's the download hiding or configuration steps to enable the feature? I greatly appreciate you're help!!!
