Hi, I have been playing around with WFF for a few weeks. I've gotten it to work to some degree. I plan to use it to manage app deployment across multiple servers. In playing with it I have found that to get it installed (my OS is Win Server 2008x64) I have to have Web Platform Installer (WPI) 3.0 which is not the latest version. I then need to install Web Deploy 1.1 in order to install WFF 2.x for IIS 7.
My question is around PHP as I want to run the latest PHP I can get through WPI but with this old 3.x version, the PHP is like 5.3. I want 5.4.
Does anyone know if I install WFF and get it to work through this older WPI, if I then upgrade WPI on all my nodes, will it break anything?
What about the WFF platform provisioning part? I upgrade WPI on my primary server in the farm, will that action then try to upgrade it on the other servers in the farm?
What is the easiest path to use WFF and get the latest/greatest version of PHP on all my servers in the farm? Any help/tips would be appreciated
