Server 2012 and IIS8 can't load webpage from external connection

Hi,

Recently installed a new server (HP Gen8 dual Xeon), with Server 2012.  Set it up and all is fine.

Installed IIS and transferred websites to new server....now this is where it gets weird.

I have no problems accessing the site within the local LAN, but once I tried to access from external source, the webpage sits there and tries to load forever.

I diagnosed it down to it seemingly being a potentially web page size issue.  If I change my default page to simply display "Hi" it loads and it's finished.  If I revert back to my normal page, the browser never loads the page at all.  I can even see the "Get" request in the IIS logs.

Configuration as follows.

RRAS set up for VPN and router, working fine (one public NIC, one private NIC, ipv4 for both).   Internally can access external sites.
IIS
Firewall ports open correctly and NAT set up accordingly.

As I said, I can get the page to load a simple "Hi" from external source, but nothing more.

Ive also checked the IIS settings for bandwidth limiting and they are set to unlimited

I'm lost.

 Any assistance would be appreciated.

 Thanks,

Mike
