FTP Access is denied - when deleting file with "Read only" attribute

Hello

I'm trying to set up an FTP site on Windows Server 2008.

I have configured the site to allow annonymous connections and ensured the annonymous user has full control NTFS permissions on the physical directories. However i'm having the following issue and hope someone out there can help??

The issue is when i'm trying to delete a file via FTP.

1. If i browse to the FTP site and delete a file that doesn't have the "read only" file attribute, the delete works ok.

2. If i browse to the FTP site and delete a file that has the "read only" file attribute, the delete fails with a; 550 Access denied error.

This is really strange. I've searched and searched for a permission i need to set and tried quite a few things but nothing has worked.

I've seen that a few other people have had the same issue, but haven't come up with a solution other than to remove the read only attribute which isn't an option for me.

If you know how to solve this please could you let me know? I'm sure it can't be by design.

Thank you!
