I recently bought a domain from Godaddy.com and wanted to host it on my own computer. I enabled iis7 on Windows 7 and created a new site. I then went to Godaddy and changed the "Points To" section to my computers IP address. I left the two Godaddy nameservers. I then set up a 301 redirect so that if someone types the url without the www it will take them to the www version.
Everything seemed to be working well. Every browser I tested took me to the correct site and the non-www to www redirect worked. But when I submitted the site to Google and went to "Fetch as Google" it came back simply saying "Error" and nothing else. I tried going to a few other sites to test crawl and check the headers, but all the sites would come back with no info or would seemingly be stuck loading.
I then went to a site to check the DNS and it was coming back with some errors: "No SOA record found" and "Nameserver does not do DNSSEC extra processing". Surprisingly, when I checked the DNS of the url without the www. it came back with no errors.
Sorry this is so long.... I am new to this and have no idea what to do or how to fix this. I do want Google to index and crawl my site, so if anyone can help or point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it.
