I have a Windows 2008 Server and it hosts a few applications of my company. I do have an MVC ASP.Net application being hosted on that server as well. It has been working fine for more than half a year and all of a sudden, since about 2 days ago, the CPU usage became 100 percent. The w3wp.exe of the application pool of the MVC app consumed very high CPU. When I tried to access the application, I got the "Waiting for Response.." and the application did not come up.
I have tried to recycle the application pool and the CPU usage dropped. However, when I tried to access the application again, I got the same "Waiting for Response.." and very high CPU usage.
There were no changes made to my application and the only thing I have done was installing Windows updates for the server 2008. I'm not too sure if there have been any known issues that MVC applications will be affected by Windows Updates for Server 2008.
Please advise on what I should do. Thank you very much.
