Sorry... I'm new to the web video thing....
If I understand correctly, "Streaming" is different than "Progressive Download" and if a content consumer watched a "Streamed" video 10 times it would cost the Host more money than if the content was delivered "Progressively"...
Also, if I understand correctly, YouTube delivers content using a "Progressive download" methodology.
Question: Is IIS "Smooth Streaming" (http://www.iis.net/media/experiencesmoothstreaming) Progressive or Streaming?
Hypothetically, if I was going to rebuild YouTube in .NET, what would I use? Silverlight for the Client and .ism as the encoded file type?
