Hi,
I am implementing the web site for public sector org. I want to make sure that they are properly licensed. Organization uses licensed commercial encoders to encode their own content. But what about distribution of encoded content via silverlight/HTML5? So far I have found following:
- http://www.mpegla.com/Lists/MPEG%20LA%20News%20List/Attachments/226/n-10-02-02.pdf - licensed till 2016 for on-demand content
- http://www.vialicensing.com/licensing/aac-faq.aspx - licensed forever
- http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/licensing/ - streaming on windows based systems is ok.
No info about smooth streaming format licensing, no info about m3u8 licensing, no info about out-of-browser licensing.
Can somebody share info on OS, Browser, Plugin, Codec combinations? Like:
Windows | Mozilla | Silverlight | H.264/AVC smooth streaming | Licensing referefences
Thank you!
