When I bring down a web site for maintenance....I generally stop the web site's app pool......after which web site users will receive a 503 status code error page. I would like to be able to customize the 503 error page.....however the web site is undergoing maintenance and the web site's root directory may have been totally erased due to the maintenance.
I have tried defining a 503 error page at the IIS server level for all web sites....however this is NOT rendered once a web site's app pool is stopped.
Any thoughts ?
