.html file does not show all images

Hi,

I've got an html file containing about 100 small images.  All the images and the html file are stored here locally.  IIS is working and serving files from my local disk.  However if I open that file via localhost using http:, the images are not all served up.  The ones that do not display will appear if I right-click and reload image (firefox), so I know the server can access the files. Also, if I refresh the page it will randomly show and not show different files each time.

If I drag/drop the html file on my browser so it is opened with the file: protocol, everything appears fine.  That seems to confirm the problem is with the server, not in the browser.  So, I'm wondering if there is some sort of setting for IIS that is limiting the number of images it will serve up for a given page?

FWIW, the server is running under Windows 8, with whatever version of IIS was packaged with the OS.

Thanks in advance for any help,

Bob
